About Us

Help a Mother. Help a Child. Change a Family

Behind every widow mother is a story of courage, sacrifice, and hope. Many are working hard to provide for their children, yet face challenges that no mother should have to face alone. Your support can make a difference. A donation can help a widow mother strengthen her livelihood, support her children’s education, provide basic needs, and rebuild with dignity and hope. When you Help a Mother, you Help a Child. And when you help a child, you help change the future of an entire family.

Our Story

At The Widow Mother Foundation, we believe that when you empower a mother, you are not just changing one life, you are changing the lives of her children and creating a stronger future for an entire family.
We are a nonprofit organization committed to supporting widow mothers and vulnerable children by providing practical assistance, empowerment opportunities, education support, and a community where families can feel seen, valued, and supported. Because behind every widow mother is a story. Behind every child is a future. And behind every act of kindness is the power to change both.

WHAT WE DO

Our work focuses on practical ways of helping widow mothers
and vulnerable children move from surviving to building a better future
Widow Mother Empowerment

We support widow mothers with opportunities that can help them strengthen their livelihoods, including small business support, skills development, and other empowerment initiatives
Education Support

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and dream. We work to support vulnerable children with educational needs and help reduce the burden on mothers struggling to keep their children in schoo
Community Outreach

We go into communities, listen to widow mothers, understand their needs, identify families requiring support, and connect them with available assistance
Sustainable Support

We don't only want to provide temporary relief. Our goal is to help mothers build stronger and more sustainable sources of income so they can provide for their families with dignity
Care & Compassion

Sometimes, what a mother needs most is to know that someone cares. Through our work, we remind widow mothers and vulnerable children that they are seen, they matter, and they are not forgotten

Our Core Belief

We believe in empowerment over dependency. We believe that support should not only help a mother get through today, it should also give her the tools and confidence to face tomorrow. That is why we seek solutions that create lasting impact. A small business supported today can feed a family tomorrow. A child kept in school today can become a leader tomorrow. A mother encouraged today can become stronger tomorrow. This is why our work matters

Our Mission

The Widow Mother Foundation is a donor funded, multi-disciplinary, and multilingual organization dedicated to empowering, advising, and supporting mothers who have lost their spouses. We understand the complexities of navigating legal, financial, and healthcare challenges during the grieving process. Losing a spouse or a parent in childhood can be an incredibly difficult journey, especially without the right support. Unfortunately, accessing such expertise can often be daunting or financially out of reach. Where traditional social services may fall short, our mission is to minimize the potential for hardship and provide support during and after bereavement. Our efforts extend globally to address the unique challenges faced by widowed expatriates across different jurisdictions and languages. By collaborating with non-profit organizations, legal professionals, financial advisors, tax specialists, healthcare professionals, and other experts, we strive to make essential expertise accessible to widowed mothers. Through practical advice, support, and training, we empower our members to develop skills to navigate similar challenges in the future.
